When you become a Christian, the Holy Spirit takes the gifts He has given you and transforms those gifts into Spiritual Gifts. This assessment will not tell you definitively if you do or do not have a certain Spiritual Gift. Sadly, many Christian have believed a Spiritual Gift assessment is a magic pill that will automatically tell them what their spiritual gifts are that God has graciously bestowed upon them. The Spiritual Gift assess-ment is the starting place to discover your Spiritual Gifts.
For many the Spiritual Gifts assessment will help confirm the Spiritual Gift(s) they believe they have, and for others it will begin the journey of discovering their Spiritual Gifts. For everyone, it will be an illustration of the incredible love God has in giving His children Spiritual Gifts to carry out their purpose in life and ministry.
You may score high in one area of the assessment because you have a strong feeling toward a statement or the statement takes you to a specific life experience that comes to your mind that you have experience either in a positive or negative way. Training and life experiences can cause a person to score high in a certain Spiritual Gift. Our motives can also cause the assessment scores to be high or low for a particular Spiritual Gift.
If you have been a Christian for a short period of time (maybe less than a year) it may be difficult for you to know exactly what your Spiritual Gift(s) are even after taking this assessment. Take heart, you do have a Spiritual Gift(s). As God gives you ministry opportunities in which to serve, your Spiritual Gift(s) will be revealed, especially if you incorporate the principles above in your discovery process. Your Spiritual Gifts do not change over time. Your experiences will change, however, which will often change the results of an assessment like the following one.
You will use your Spiritual Gift(s) outside the Body of Christ. You will use your Spiritual Gift(s) where your work, where you play, where you do life with others. 2 Corinthians 5:20 says, “ We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” God has given you gifts that at your spiritual birth He has transformed into Spiritual Gifts and will use them to help you accomplish the goal of PLACE inME to have great relationships, successful careers and impactful ministry endeavors
